The Cyprus is a healthy breed. Until today, no genetic diseases had been recorded yet. However, owners still need to beware of some common health issues.
- Obesity is a common in cats as a result of being overfed or the cat’s diet lacks proper nutrients and vitamins.
- Ear infections can be complex, as they might be a sign for other health problem like ear mites, FIV, tumors, ruptured eardrum, tumors or other environmental irritants. Take your cat to a veterinarian as soon as possible if any infection happens.
- Cats with longer coats groom themselves more often and they might ingest their own hair. Most of the fur would be discarded through their waste, but sometimes they becomes lodged in the throat or stomach and presents further complications for the cat.
